If you’re looking for inspiration, here are some of our favorite things to do near Watersound, Florida.
Explore Grayton Beach State Park
Just 20 minutes from The Club, Grayton Beach State Park is a coastal gem nestled along the beautiful shores of the Gulf of Mexico. With its pristine beach, breathtaking dune lake and diverse ecosystem, this park offers a multitude of activities.
For a captivating hike, venture into the park’s extensive trail network. Wander through ancient pine forests and encounter Western Lake, a rare coastal dune lake and a unique geographical formation found only in a few places around the world. This serene lake is one of the best places to go kayaking in Florida. Lifestyle Members and guests enjoy complimentary kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals at the WaterColor Boathouse.
Explore Charming Coastal Towns
The small towns perched along 30A will make you feel like you’re living in a postcard. From Rosemary Beach, just 3.5 miles from The Club, to Seaside, a little over 5 miles away, be sure to factor in time to explore some of the area’s most idyllic communities.
Grayton Beach, one of 30A’s older communities, sits on a stunning sugar-sand beach and offers its share of laid back coastal vibes, with shopping and dining options for the whole family.
Just down the highway, find Seaside, one of the most well-known destinations in the area for its meticulously planned, picture-perfect setting. Stroll down manicured, tree-lined streets, stop by Airstream Row for a bite to eat from one of the food trucks or spend the afternoon browsing upscale boutiques and art galleries.
With its charming cobblestone streets, picturesque architecture and stunning coastal views, Rosemary Beach offers a serene escape where laid-back beach vibes meet sophisticated elegance. Be sure to stop in for some al fresco dining or to get in some shopping at one of the town’s elegant boutiques.
Alys Beach captivates with its striking white-washed architecture, lush landscapes and tranquil ambiance, creating a haven of refined coastal living. While in Alys Beach, factor in some time to simply walk around and take in the architecture.
Go to a Farmers Market
Begin a beach or pool day at a local farmers market, stocking up on fresh, local goods, perfect for afternoon snacking. Watersound, Seaside, and Rosemary Beach have regular farmers markets. The weekly farmers market in Seaside takes place every Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Rosemary Beach farmers market takes place every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. And at the Watersound Town Center, the farmers market takes place seasonally Thursday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m—offering fresh produce, artisanal foods, and local artists.
Dine and Shop at The Big Chill
Just around the corner from The Club, The Big Chill is the perfect place to land for an afternoon with the whole crew. Find your spot on the communal lawn, grab something delicious from one of the food vendors and enjoy the evening’s entertainment or hit the shops for some retail therapy. Biking along 30A offers a unique and immersive way to experience the charm and natural splendor of Florida’s Gulf Coast. No matter where you land along 30A, you’ll be perfectly situated to spend some time exploring on a set of wheels, whether you’re renting from one of the several vendors along the highway or bringing your own. Cruise along the well-maintained bike path that runs parallel to the highway or veer off and explore each town individually; either way, you’ll be met with notably bike-friendly communities.
